The cell delivers 3.8V nominal at 9720mAh using pure LiCoO\u2082 (lithium cobalt oxide) chemistry. The BMS chipset is Texas Instruments \u2014 not a generic IC. On the iPad Pro 12.9 3rd and 4th gen, the BMS communicates state-of-charge to iPadOS directly. Generic chipsets on this platform frequently produce erratic battery percentage readings and fail to register correct health status under iOS battery diagnostics. TI’s fuel gauge algorithm resolves this \u2014 and it’s the difference between a clean installation and a return complaint from a repair shop customer.<\/p>\n
