Safe, Flexible, and Powerful: 48V Low Voltage Stackable Battery Systems

As a premier LiFePO4 battery manufacturer in China, Balder Power offers the Low Voltage (LV) Stackable Series designed specifically for residential safety and installation flexibility. Unlike high-voltage systems, our 48V/51.2V architecture operates within the “Safe Extra-Low Voltage” (SELV) range, making it the safest choice for home solar energy storage and off-grid cabins.

Why Choose Our Low Voltage Stackable ESS?

  • Safety First (48V System)
Operating at a nominal 51.2V, these batteries eliminate the risk of high-voltage electric shock during installation and maintenance. This safety feature makes them the preferred choice for residential installers.

  • Lego-Style Modular Expansion
Future-proof your energy needs. Start with a single 5.12kWh battery module (100Ah) and easily stack up to 8-10 modules to create a powerful 40kWh+ energy bank. No complex wiring is needed—just stack and click (or connect via short parallel cables).

  • Tier-1 Automotive Grade Cells
We use only brand-new Grade A prismatic LiFePO4 cells (EVE/CATL), ensuring a lifespan of 15+ years and 6000+ deep cycles at 80% DOD.

Seamless Inverter Compatibility

One of the biggest concerns for installers is compatibility. Our Low Voltage Stackable Batteries feature a smart BMS pre-programmed to communicate with the world’s leading 48V Hybrid Inverters, including:

    • Victron Energy (Perfect for off-grid marine/cabin systems)

    • Deye / Sunsynk / Sol-Ark (Top choice for residential hybrid systems)

    • Growatt, GoodWe, SMA, Voltronic, LuxPower, and SRNE.

Ideal Applications

  • Home Self-Consumption: Store excess solar power during the day to power your home at night, reducing reliance on the grid.

  • Emergency Backup Power: Keep essential appliances (lights, WiFi, fridge) running during blackouts.

  • Off-Grid Living: Reliable energy storage for remote locations where the grid is unavailable.

FAQs about Low Voltage Stackable Battery (48V/51.2V)

Q1: Why is your battery rated at 51.2V while others are 48V? What is the difference?

A: This is a significant advantage of our design. Many standard 48V batteries (like older Pylontech models) use 15 battery cells in series (15S), resulting in a nominal voltage of 48.0V. Balder Power uses a 16S configuration (16 cells in series), resulting in a nominal 51.2V.

  • Benefit: The higher voltage (51.2V) ensures better efficiency and stability, especially when running high-load inverters. It aligns perfectly with modern 48V hybrid inverters (Deye, Victron, Growatt) which actually perform best at voltage ranges closer to 50V-52V.

Q2: Can I mix these stackable batteries with other brands or different capacities?

A: No, we strongly advise against mixing battery brands or different capacities (e.g., mixing 100Ah with 200Ah modules) in the same battery bank. Different internal resistances and BMS logic can cause system imbalance, reduced capacity, or potential safety risks. Always use identical Balder Power modules for expansion.

Q3: Does the BMS support "Closed-Loop Communication" with my inverter?

A: Yes. Closed-loop communication is critical for safety and longevity. Our BMS actively "talks" to the inverter, sending real-time data on SOC (State of Charge), voltage, and current limits.

  • Supported Brands: Victron (via CAN), Deye/Sunsynk (CAN/RS485), Growatt, GoodWe, SMA, Sol-Ark, and Megarevo.

  • Note: If you use a legacy inverter without communication, our battery can still work in "Lead-Acid Mode" based on voltage settings, though communication is recommended.

Q4: How many modules can I stack? Do I need an external Hub?

A: Our standard BMS supports parallel connection of up to 16 units directly without an external communication hub.

  • Single Module: 5.12kWh

  • Max Configuration: 16 x 5.12kWh = 81.92kWh

  • This capacity is sufficient for large residential villas and small commercial projects. For systems larger than 82kWh, please contact our engineering team for a High-Voltage solution.

Q5: Do I need a server rack cabinet to install these?

A: Not necessarily. This is the beauty of the "Stackable" design. The modules feature a self-locking mechanism or come with simple brackets/bases that allow them to be stacked vertically on the floor without purchasing an expensive 19-inch server cabinet. However, if you already have a standard server rack, our modules are also compatible with standard rack mounting.

Q6: What is the recommended charging/discharging current?

A: For a single 100Ah (5.12kWh) module:

  • Recommended: 50A (0.5C) – This maximizes battery lifespan.

  • Maximum Continuous: 100A (1C) – For peak load demands.

  • If you have a 4-module stack (20kWh), the system can comfortably handle 200A charging/discharging, supporting powerful 10kW or 12kW inverters.

Q7: Is the battery compatible with 110V or 230V systems?

A: The battery itself is DC (Direct Current). Whether your home is 110V (US standard) or 230V (EU standard) depends entirely on your Inverter, not the battery. As long as you have a 48V battery-compatible inverter, our battery will work perfectly in any country.

Q8: Are the batteries certified for sea shipping?

A: Absolutely. Safety and compliance are our priorities. All Balder Power modules come with UN38.3 test reports and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), which are mandatory for international sea freight. We also provide CE and IEC62619 certifications for customs clearance in Europe and other regions.

Q9: What happens if one module fails after 3 years?

A: Our modular design makes maintenance easy. If one module has an issue, you can simply disconnect and remove that specific unit for repair or replacement without shutting down the entire system. The remaining healthy modules will continue to power your house.
