he Apple Watch Series 6 (2020) introduced two features that made it the most power-demanding Watch generation at launch: Always-On Display (AOD) and the blood oxygen (SpO2) sensor. AOD keeps the display partially active at all times; SpO2 performs periodic background measurements. Both draw continuous low-level power from the battery \u2014 which means a degraded or sub-spec replacement cell will show runtime shortfall on this model more noticeably than on earlier Watch generations without these features.<\/p>\n

The S6 uses two distinct battery P\/Ns by case size: A2345 (265.9mAh) for the 40mm variant and A2327 (303.8mAh) for the 44mm variant. Voltage is 3.85V nominal \u2014 a slight increase over the 3.82V used in Series 5 \/ SE (1st Gen). This difference is relevant for PCM spec: the overcharge cutoff on S6 batteries is calibrated to the higher nominal voltage profile. S5 and S6 battery PCMs are not interchangeable, even though the case sizes appear similar.<\/p>\n
